TV listening device

  • What does it do?:

Wireless earphones to let those with hearing loss listen to the TV at the volume they like.

  • What’s the problem?:

Personal headphones that increase the volume of TV so that those who are hard of hearing can avoid disturbing the neighbours.

  • What our testers liked:

Straightforward to unpack and instructions are clear if you have a little technical knowhow.  Its easy to use, it does amplify the TV sound through headphones for the person using the TV.  Headphones have an auto shut of preventing the battery running down unnecessarily.

  • What our testers disliked:

People with dementia may not be comfortable with new devices in their ears.

  • What is interesting:
  • Good for those who need their TV up louder than others would like but relies on someone happy to tolerate new things in their ears.
  • What our testers said:

"Great idea if adopted early.  Lets everyone watch TV at a reasonable volume."

  • Manufacturer:

    Geemarc

  • Approximate cost: £50
